The Reverend Leonard Curry is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of John Hay High School (Cleveland, OH), Leonard went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Rhodes College and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MA) from Christian Brothers University. Leonard has also earned the Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degrees from Yale University. He is currently finishing his PhD at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where his research focuses on emotion, racism, and power in religion and politics.
The Reverend Leonard Curry has served as a Chaplain Intern at the VA Hospital (West Haven, CT), a Pastoral Intern at Glide United Methodist Church (San Francisco, CA), and as an associate minister in AME churches in Memphis, New Haven, and Nashville. He is an experienced educator, with over 10 years in teaching in various settings. He is the current Pastor of St. James AME Church in Ashland, Kentucky.
