Leonard’s Background

 

I am a feeling thinker and a thinking feeler who wants to change the world for the better. I learned by doing—working at food banks with my mother in Cleveland, OH, living in intentional community, committing to service and reflection, and pursuing the appropriate academic study to undergird this work. These lifelong experiences as a learner and leader combine in my workshops on antiracism, antiblackness, divestment from racism, diversity, inclusion, equity, and the need for a new American citizenship.

We must not be afraid of either change or difference. I teach my clients how to navigate difficult social problems. And I help them to have robust conversations around topics such as race, gender, sexuality, and ability. In so doing, I empower us all to uncover our values, move towards just and inclusive goals, and live well with others.

Many people fight for justice. But I make sure to remember joy. What we need today is both justice and joy.
